New year, new look

After almost 12 years of running Independent Banking Professionals, the time has come for Rod and Helen to take a step back from front line work and focus on supporting Nick with the background/tech/compliance activity as he becomes the primary contact for all new work going forward.  We will continue to work with some existing clients as and if their needs arise. 

On 1^st April 2014 we sat opposite each other in our new office, set up our laptops, changed some company details, launched a new web site and then with no work we (literally) went for a coffee in Bingham because we were only free to do our own thing from that morning after leaving our corporate lives the previous day.

The following day the phone rang and a voice said “Now you work for yourselves, do you think you could come and help me with...............” and it hasn’t stopped since, despite never advertising at all.  Here’s a few highlights;

We joined NACFB at a very early stage, thanks to support from @paulgoodman and at our last audit we were rated at A1 (against an aspiration for brokers to achieve C3 – lowest rating E5) and we became a NACFB Assured Broker

We became FCA registered in 2017 and have provided a service to all clients at the highest level whether regulated or not as we’ve always believed everyone deserves the best service and clearest transparency around what we do

We’ve supported clients and their lawyers in various meetings across a range of subjects within our expertise

We completed a 2 year contract supporting a report into banking in the last recession

We’ve brokered more re-banks and debt than we can count (and we are really good at counting !)

We’ve trained underwriters for internet based lenders and supported them through their early lending decisions

We had many approaches to work with us as appointed representatives over the years, with four people joining us for varying periods of time.  Recently Nick became an IBP director and we remain delighted that he’s bringing his 41 years of commercial banking experience to the company.

.........and a whole host of other things that we probably never expected to be doing.

So this isn’t goodbye, it’s the new version of IBP with Nick Pigott fronting the new business from now onwards and Rod and Helen having more free time, but making sure the background works smoothly to ensure he is able to do just that.  Thank you to everyone that has helped us in what we have done over the last 12 years, It’s been one heck of a ride and it’s far from done yet !
